REQUIRED TOOLS
Wrench to size
screwdriver
STEP 1
First you need to adjust the rear derailleur.

STEP 2
Set the lowest gear. Make sure that the chain is on the largest rear wheel and the smallest front wheel.

STEP 3
Loosen the nut that holds the front derailleur cable. In this image, the screw needs a screwdriver 5mm hex, but other bikes sometimes have a nut, for which a wrench is needed. Once loose, the derailleur is released from its position.

STEP 4
Align the lower end of the derailleur. Use a screwdriver to turn the adjustment screw located above the front derailleur. In the image the alignment screw is close to the rubber. Search a sign in the shape of L.
-
Start drawing to align the rear derailleur with the larger rear wheel. Make sure that the chain does not rub on the front derailleur when the pedals are spinning. Then align it with the largest ring and check again that the chain does not touch the derailleur in this position.
-
Note: you should not ride a bike with the chain to its maximum voltage level. You should never keep the chain rings on the front and rear, smaller at the same time. Rather, it changes the relationship and put the chain on the middle front ring. When you make these adjustments would be best to leave the chain on the largest rear dials.
.

STEP 5
Align the upper end of the derailleur. While pedaling, use a hand to push the derailleur in its highest position, so as to slide the chain on the largest ring. Hold the derailleur in this position with your hands as you work.
By using the adjusting key labeled with "H" rule the derailleur in the opposite way than before, making sure that the chain does not rub when it is on the smaller rear wheel. Then make adjustments when located on the ring of greater diameter.
This time you should hold the chain rings on the front and rear, larger, so remember to put it on the rear wheel with a smaller diameter when aligning the derailleur in its highest position
.

STEP 6
Take your hand off and let the derailleur back to the lowest position. Spin the pedals to get off the chain.

STEP 7
Pull the chain to keep stressed. Set the derailleur and tighten the lock nut.

STEP 6
Make sure that everything moves and flows on a regular basis.
